Get to Know Me

Why Choose Me?

Psychotherapy and counselling is such a personalised and unique experience, that I would invite you to speak to me prior to booking a session or meet with me and see how I work for yourself.

What I can tell you is about me - I have always been interested in how we as humans come to be who we are, our histories and stories and how they make us anxious, sad, quick to anger or feel numb in ourselves. This interest fuelled my decision to go into the world of psychotherapy to better understand the human mind. My training has given me the tools and knowledge to help people find themselves and learn to be at one with themselves, others or the events that have hurt them on a deep level.

I have worked with many different individualised issues and struggles, from bereavement to abuse, to childhood traumas to ongoing depression. My belief is that no two humans issues are ever the same, I work with people and their problems at their pace and treat them as unique as the person they are.

 Employment History

I have worked in many different mental health settings over 10 years from working with Bereavement charities to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to University Counselling Services, before taking the decision to start up my own therapeutic practise.

Where I Work

Working Online & Over Telephone

Working virtually in therapy can be both really rewarding and hard. It allows flexibility for you, not having to travel to therapy or worry about childcare etc. But with that it can be hard trying to find space at home where you won't be interrupted, there are always ways around this and I can help you think of a safe place for you to access therapy with me. I once worked with someone who had their sessions in their car - where there is a will there is a way.

I work in my own office at home. Your privacy is guaranteed with me as I only do sessions when I am alone at home, however I can wear headphones if it makes it more comfortable for you.

Additional Training & Employment History

This qualification trained me to work in an integrative and relational way with individuals. This means I have trained in numerous psychotherapeutic theories to best suit you. Theories such as psychodynamic, humanistic,  person-centred, existential, psychodrama and gestalt to name a few.

This qualification gave me knowledge and understanding into the counselling profession as well as knowledge into how the human brain and mind works - how it retains memories for example and how this can affect the body. I find this useful in my practise with individuals

I have had additional training in:

  • Bereavement Counselling

  • Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Neurodiversity Training

  • LGBTQI+ Counselling

I have worked in Mental Health Organisations and Charities for around 10 years now from working within Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services to University Counselling Service to Bereavement Charities.
